Professor Uchefula Ugonna Chukwumaeze, Ichie Osinachukwu of Amucha- Ebeise, from Umuokpoko,
Amucha-Ebesie, Njaba LGA of Imo State is a Ph.D holder in Law. Having made a 2nd class Upper Division in both Abia State
University, Uturu, Abia State; and Nigerian Law School, Lagos, he was invited by Abia State University in 1995 to start a
career as a lecturer. He rose through the ranks to become an Associate Professor in 2009 and a full Professor of Public Law in 2012.
He is a knight of St Christopher in the Anglican Communion.
Prof Chukwumaeze has received more than 30 certificates of Honour by various bodies and communities in appreciation of his services
to humanity. He is a well respected legal practitioner of a very high distinction. He was one of the 24 (twenty four) legal practitioners
engaged in 2017 to overhaul the entire laws relating to the legal profession and draft a new law for the future of the legal profession- Legal
Profession Regulation Review Committee of Nigerian Bar Association. In 2019, he was conferred with the prestigious title of the Senior Advocate
of Nigeria- the first and only academic senior advocate from Imo State. He was a member of the Committee that drafted the Administration of
Criminal Justice Bill, Imo State, 2020 and a member of the Review Committee on Allocation of Lands in Imo State 2007 till 2019. He is currently
the Editor in Chief of Nigerian Bar Association Journal.
