The goal of the environmental Science course is to provide students with the scientific principles, concepts, and methodologies required to understand the interrelationships of the natural world, to identify and analyze environmental problems both natural and human-made, to evaluate the relative risks associated with these problems, and to examine alternative solutions for resolving and/or preventing them.
There are eight Departments in the faculty of Environmental Sciences, namely:
1. Architecture
2. Building
3. Estate Management
4. Fine and Applied Art
5. Geography and Environmental Management
6. Surveying and Geoinformatics
7. Quantity Surveying
8. Urban and Regional Planning
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
(a)
Entrance Examination
UME candidate with credits passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two of Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Fine Art, Biology, Geography and Economics at SSCE level, GCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent are eligible for admission.
(b)
Direct Entry
(i) Candidate who fulfil the ‘O’ Level admission requirements and who have obtained GCE ‘A’ Level, HSC or equivalent oases in Mathematics and Physics, or OND in Architectural Technology at least at credit level are eligible for admission into level 200.
(ii) Candidate who fulfil the ‘O’ Level admission requirements and who hold HND in Architectural Technology at least at credit level are eligible for admission into level 300.
